Sensei Chris Lum Lock
Downtown School Director

Sensei Chris Lum Lock started his Karate journey in 2002 at the age of seven. His training
continued all the way through primary, middle, high, and even post secondary schooling.
Sensei Chris was awarded his First Dan by Shihan Davis in 2009. After obtaining his first
degree black belt Sensei Chris began helping out during classes. This allowed him to
accumulate well over the required high school community hours needed, earning him a
scholarship for post secondary school.

Shihan Davis then awarded Sensei Chris with his Second Dan in 2015. Sensei Chris has taken
part in seminars, tournaments, and even trained in different styles and disciplines across North
America. Sensei Chris received his Sensei title from Shihan Jaukovic in 2022 and went on to receive his 3rd degree black belt from Shihan Davis and the World Kobudo Federation in 2023.

Sensei Chris has since opened our second location at Richmond St West and Spadina. Sensei Chris continues to work with the students from both of our locations to pass on what his instructors gave to him over the years.
